Esther van Groeningen
After studying 3-D Design at the University of Art in Arnhem (Holland) Esther van Groeningen started the Studio “Keramiek Atelier 109”.. In 1999 the name of her Studio changed to “Het Arnhems Keramiek Atelier”.
Esther is inspired by using existing domestic products but making them in porcelain or stoneware: The 'Segomil' lampshade that Loop stocks is from a collection called “Reproducts” .
The designs in this collection are developed out of existing products, combined with other shapes. It results in an alienated and comic effect. One of these reproducts is the porcelain lamp “Segomil”. Made of clay that comes out of Limoges in France (reversed Segomil).15 cm high and available in white .
“It’s old kitsch in a new jacket”.
