The overall colour is a complex and natural, dark pitch brown with a reddish tint that becomes silvery grey or tan in different lights. A soft handle produces a fabric with bounce and structure when knitted. The yarn retains its original (and famous) signature scent of the fields, flock and new lambs in straw-filled barns and I am thrilled to bits with it!
The Hebridean fleece is from the 24th June 2016 Escrick Park Estate clip and the Zwartbles comes from Exmoor, not far from the mill where the yarn is spun.
