"Living in Brooklyn presents a daily arrangement of unexpected inspirations — like existing in the midst of an impassioned conversation. In assembling this body of work, I've come to rely on an impossible juxtaposition of parts in my environment — old and new, luxury and necessity, tradition and trend — as a kind of sustenance in my process.
Throughout the weeks and months spent conceiving of, knitting, writing and photographing these designs, I became increasingly indebted to Place as the primary informant of this work — the Places that inspired it, the Places that housed its growth, and perhaps most importantly, the Places through which the work will pass after leaving my hands.
I hope you enjoy this collection — inspired by the streets and avenues on which I walk every day. May these works delight your own love of process as much as they have mine.
