The Daughter of a Shepherd journey began with a firm commitment to using only 100% British wool from shepherds and producers within the United Kingdom, aiming to support all aspects of British manufacturing in the processing and production.
The overall colour of the Heritage yarns is a complex dark pitch brown with a reddish tint which becomes becomes silvery grey or tan in different lights. A soft handle produces a fabric with bounce and structure when knitted. The yarn retains its original signature scent of the fields, flock and new lambs in straw-filled barns and I am thrilled to bits with it!
Loop stocks both the DK and 4 Ply yarns as well as their Brume and Castlemilk Moorit DK yarns.
Rachel's passion for the importance of provenance, collaborating with both shepherds, mills, designers and weavers has been a wonder to watch unfold over the last few years. We love her, her yarn and her story. See more of her story on our youtube channel as well as our Instagram TV channel.
All Daughter of a Shepherd yarns are muelsing free, ethically and sustainably produced in the UK
