A class for those comfortable with the basics of knitting, but wanting to learn more!
WHEN BOOKING A CLASS ONLINE, OTHER THAN BY CALLING THE SHOP, PLEASE MAKE SURE TO PUT YOUR PHONE NUMBER AND EMAIL IN THE 'NOTES' PART OF THE ORDER.
All of our classes taking place in the London shop from Autumn 2020, and for the foreseeable future, will be held on Sundays.
The rest of the shop is closed on Sundays and the workshops will be held on our middle floor where there is wonderful space to spread out and have the windows open for fresh air and great light.
This class will have a maximum of 5 students to be sure you get lots of attention. You will be able to shop in the shop as well if you would like.
* If you are driving it is free to park in the neighborhood all day Sunday on single yellow lines.Please be aware that Emma, the teacher, will be wearing a clear face visor. Please feel free during the class to wear a face covering of some sort or, if not, to respectfully distance in the workshop.
November 8th, 15th and 22nd: 11am - 1pm on three Sundays for a total of 6 hours tuition.1st lesson:
After a short introduction you will learn how to read patterns, why tension squares matters and how to check your own tension. Lesson 1 will also cover how to shape a garment and small alterations. To summarise you will learn: Reading patterns and understanding abbreviations, Tension/gauge squares, Shaping Alterations 2nd lesson:
You will learn how to knit with several colours simultaneously using both Fair Isle and Intarsia methods. The benefits of knitting in the round and how to do Aran knitting will also be covered. To summarise you will learn: Introduction to Fair Isle and Intarsia techniques, Knitting in the round, Aran knitting: how to do cables. 3rd lesson:
The lesson will focus on finishing techniques such as how to sew up your garment but also cover stitch combinations and an introduction to Lace. To summarise you will be taught: An introduction to Lace Basic stitch combinations: moss and rib Finishing techniques: back stitch and picking up stitches. Taught by Emma Brace.
With a first class honors degree in contemporary textiles & over seven years experience in the industry, Emma is really excited to be teaching at Loop again.

*Prices include materials. Classes are held in the shop. Maximum of 5 students per class.
100% deposit is required at registration.

Full refund of payment for a class will be given for cancellations only if the spot can be filled by another student. Please be considerate. We reserve the right to cancel a class in unusual circumstances. We try to avoid this wherever possible, but sometimes it cannot be avoided. In this situation, of course, a full refund will be given. We're sorry but Loop can not be financially responsible for extreme weather conditions or any other situations that are out of its' control.
If we need to cancel the class due to any unforeseen lockdown measures in London we will of course offer you a full refund or shop credit (whatever your preference is).
