Gauge: 17sts and 42 rows = 4" (10cm) in brioche stitch on US8 (5mm) needles, blocked. Note that 42 rows in brioche st viewed from the RS will appear to be only 21 rows.
Notes: Cardigan is worked in pieces and seamed. The armhole shaping is based on an 18th century style that is a combination of set-in ion the front and raglan in the back, with no shoulder seam; The front armhole wraps over and is sewn to the raglan line of the back. Fronts have a knit-in slip st edging along the open edges. Shawl collar is knit in one piece with each front and shaped with short rows.
