SOLD OUT

October workshops have sold out. November dates have sold out.

New Date: Tuesday November 26th (sold out)
Time:
11-1:30 and also from 2:30-5pm. (Two separate workshops)

On Wednesday November 27th Hikaru will be 'In Conversation' with Celia Pym and Rachel Mathews in honour of the publication of the English edition of her book.
(This event is now SOLD OUT)

Please send us an email at shop@loopknitting.com if you would like to be notified when more workshops are scheduled with Hikaru and we'd be more than happy to let you know.

Hikaru Noguchi is a leading darning creator based in Tokyo.
Because she is a knit textile designer, she uses darning techniques not only to mend damaged clothes but as a textile element to create more interesting textures on knits.
During the workshop, Hikaru will show several darning techniques and using different threads and yarns will help you experiment and learn how to achieve different results on surfaces.

Date: Saturday October 12th
Time:
11-1:30 and also from 2:30-5pm. (Two separate workshops)

Materials: Please could you bring some damaged garments, (preferable knitted surfaces) and scissors.
Loop and Hikaru will provide a great range of threads and yarns for you to play with on the day but if you have any you would like to use, feel free to bring those along.

Loop also stocks Hikaru's wonderful book on visible mending and surface stitching. It is in Japanese but is still incredibly inspiring as it is image-led. More stock should be with us in late July.

We are so thrilled to welcome Hikaru to Loop. When we first opened in 2005, Hikaru Noguchi's knitted garments were one of the very first handmade collections we stocked. I have long loved her whole aesthetic and it has been a joy over the years to see her work evolve. To see her stitched embroidery on knit is now so inspiring and she, along with Celia Pym and a handful of others, is a master at it.

*Prices include materials. Classes are held in the shop. Maximum of 8 students per class.
100% deposit is required at registration.

Cancellation policy:
Full refund of payment for a class will be given for cancellations only if the spot can be filled by another student. Please be considerate. We reserve the right to cancel a class in unusual circumstances. We try to avoid this wherever possible, but sometimes it cannot be avoided. In this situation, of course, a full refund will be given. We're sorry but Loop can not be financially responsible for extreme weather conditions or any other situations that are out of its' control.
