Getting started with Toe up Socks (ONLINE)

This is an online zoom workshop spread over 2 Sundays

January 17th and 24th 2-4pm Sold Out.
March 7th and 14th 2- 4pm Sold Out.

The classes will take place on the ZOOM site.  We have chosen times to suit those in Europe and North America as well and hope you can join us!

Well before the class we will be emailing you very clear information on how to log onto ZOOM and the class (it really is very easy!) as well as emailing you any relevant class information.

CLASS DESCRIPTION:

This class has been designed to teach the intermediate knitter how to knit socks from the toe up using Jane’s favourite methods and techniques. Over the course of the two sessions we will cover the following techniques as well as introduce you to the pleasure of knitting your own socks from the toe up.

Using long circular needles in the Magic Loop method

The use of short rows for creating three dimensional shapes

Knitting in the round

Left and right slanting decreases and increases

Judy’s Magic Cast On

Elizabeth Zimmermann’s sewn cast off.

Participants need to be able to knit and purl with reasonable confidence and speed, increase and decrease and read written instructions.

You will need:

100g sock weight yarn

2.5mm 80 cm circular needle.

Scissors

Tapestry needle
