This class is suitable for any level of experience, all ages and abilities, and stitch techniques will be taught during class as needed.

Floral and vintage fabrics enhance and give depth to many projects. Students will be asked to search through their collections for florals especially to applique onto a square sample. a mixture of couching and hand embroidery will be used to complete the work. The sample can then be made up into a cushion cover, tote bag, or framed piece. The techniques learned and explored can be applied to many future stitching projects.

Using plants, flowers and cottage gardens as inspiration, the aim is to produce a small mixed media textile collage. These will then be stitched and added to with lace and ribbon.

Hunt through your collections to floral-inspired fabrics, old embroidered snippets of tea cloths or handkerchiefs – also any images that inspire you.

 * It’s helpful to think about colours and choose some that you would like to work with on the day.

 * The piece will be hand stitched and tacked during the course and can be further embellished on a sewing machine if desired.

Please make sure we have the exact email address that you would like us to use to be invited to join the teaching session on zoom.
