Springy Vale, garter stitch, and eyelet lace all come together in Gilda, an heirloom-quality stole with understated grace and magnetism. Arranged on a plane of spongy garter stitch are eyelets zigzagging at diminishing scale, then bordered by a pillar of ever familiar Mrs. Hunter’s lace. This is a stole that won’t look quite the same every time you wrap it around your shoulders or neck. One occasion may f ind the slipped stitch lace pillars more prominent, while another may f ind the zigzagging eyelets taking center stage — all thanks to a chameleon-like, but nonetheless cohesive and carefully-chosen medley of motifs.
